Hasbro’s Tully’s Terrible Night

Yes, have some.

The first-ever Hasbro PulseCon brought a little something for everyone—if you were fortunate enough to be able to check out, that is. For us Ghostbuster fans, that little something came in the form of everyone’s favorite accountant, Louis Tully. Well, technically I suppose that I should say Vinz Clortho.

Packed alongside his Terror Dog counterpart, Louis looks great in his disheveled splendor. The likeness is based on Louis’s early transformation into Ghostbusters. With his red eyes and facial expression, you can just look at this figure and hear Rick Moranis ask if you’re the gatekeeper. It’s understandable to scoff at the $49.99 price tag of this set and wish that Louis/Vinz were by himself, but the inclusion of the Terror Dog at least makes sense. If you have collected the first wave of Hasbro’s Ghostbusters Plasma Series, you have collected enough pieces to construct a Terror Dog, but if you’re looking to be film accurate, you’re going to need two. Instead of copping one on eBay for an arm and a leg, this is a simple solution. I can confirm that the included Terror Dog is the BAF version of the figure.

If you’re a fan of this line—and can afford the price–I have no qualms about recommending this set. As I said before, the Louis figure looks great, and I love that it also comes with Egon’s brain-reading helmet. In my part of this hell of a world in 2020, this line is warming the pegs at the local Wal-Mart and Target. It might not be for everyone—and even I think that the Diamond Series is a better value—but as a die-hard fan of the franchise, I think they’re a great get. I’m not sure where the series will go from here, though. Having made all of the Ghostbusters, Dana, Gozer, and Louis before the second wave, there’s not a whole left in their arsenal without spoiling Ghostbusters: Afterlife. I guess we will see. Who knows, maybe they will drop a Real Ghostbusters line on us. I wouldn’t hate that at all.
